Developing Data Infrastructures

This collection is established by our dear collection editor Bruce Becker, curator of ScienceOpen collections also on Sci-GaIA deliverables, Products of the CODE-RADE platform, and African e-Infrastructure Commons.

Bruce (@brusisceddu; you can see also @DirisaNicis) describes the contents of his Developing Data Infrastructure Collection:

Scope: this collection covers data federations and data repositories, as well as archival data for research communities, with articles relevant to the development of services in the context of a national or regional data infrastructure.

Biases: this collection is aimed at creating a body of knowledge applicable to those who would build data infrastructures themselves – particularly in the case of countries or regions where no such infrastructure yet exists. The collection is biased towards research into usage and experience of data infrastructures but also covers implementation and performance aspects. Rather than track the state of the art of these infrastructures, we focus on the best practice and experience of research communities of these infrastructures.”

Many thanks, Bruce!

Enjoy some useful insights and get a daily toolkit dose to building your own data infrastructures! 🙂
