The Irish Journal of Agricultural and Food Research launches new interactive publishing environment
The IJAFR is now hosted on ScienceOpen
ScienceOpen and Compuscript have teamed up to create a new, interactive experience for readers and authors of the open access journal, the Irish Journal of Agricultural and Food Research (IJAFR) published by Teagasc, the Agriculture and Food Development Authority of Ireland. This new partnership with Compuscript and ScienceOpen will expand the reach of the academic journal.
We are delighted that the Irish Journal of Agricultural and Food Research content will now be available through ScienceOpen. This will help to make the IJAFR much more accessible and therefore more useful to the academic community and beyond.
Morgan Lyons, Managing Director of Compuscript
Engage through the IJAFR Collection
Current and future issues of the IJAFR will now be hosted within ScienceOpen’s freely accessible, interactive discovery environment which contains over 66 million scholarly records of research articles, conference proceedings, books, posters, and preprints. A unique collection has been created for the IJAFR to showcase Irish agricultural research on the platform and highlight its availability as open access. The numerous engagement features on ScienceOpen encourage community-building around the IJAFR content. Articles can be easily recommended, reviewed and shared into social networks. Authors can add lay summaries, keywords and images to reach a non-academic audience. And the metrics provided by ScienceOpen will benefit authors by helping them keep track of shares, reads, and recommendations by users. Experts are also welcome to curate topical Collections around relevant research fields.

A Great New Addition to the Platform
Agricultural research is of vital importance and relevant to a broad non-academic audience. We are therefore very excited to support Teagasc, the Agriculture and Food Development Authority of Ireland, to reach their outreach and education goals with this open access journal. By partnering with Compuscript we can provide attractive, professional publishing services embedded within an interactive discovery environment to increase readership and engagement.
Stephanie Dawson, CEO of ScienceOpen
The IJAFR is an attractive addition to ScienceOpen’s discovery platform because it enriches the diversity of its content and aligns with ScienceOpen’s mission of promoting openness in scientific communication. The IJAFR will bring more awareness of ScienceOpen to Irish researchers, and likewise, ScienceOpen’s diverse base of users will increase the dissemination of the IJAFR to a wider global audience.
