The Countdown to the New Year with the SDGs

The Countdown to the New Year with the SDGs

Highlighting Sustainable Development Goals Research in December

In the same spirit as last December, we will count down to the new year by highlighting research on the platform that supports each United Nations Sustainable Development Goal. Through the year, we have had some great additions to the platform regarding the SDGs, and so we are going to highlight research on the SDGs again this year to include the new Collections that perhaps you haven’t had the opportunity to explore yet.

Follow along on Twitter or Facebook #ScienceOpenSDGs

Each weekday we will be posting on Twitter (@Science_Open) and Facebook (@scienceopen) the Collections we find relevant to the SDG of that day. You will be able to follow along by searching #ScienceOpenSDGs on Twitter or Facebook. To see what we highlighted last year, you can check out all highlighted collections in this blogpost from last year.

Researchers can get further involved!

After reflecting on our countdown to the holidays with the SDGs from last year, we came up with another initiative which we launched in March of this year. We encouraged authors whose research is relevant to one or more of the SDGs to add ‘SDGs’ to the keywords of their article record on ScienceOpen. These records would then be automatically added to ScienceOpen’s SDG Collections which would make this type of research more easily discoverable by users. If this is relevant to your work, you can learn more about this initiative by going here.
