Road to Open Meta – Conference on Challenges of Metadata Communication
ScienceOpen is very happy to announce another upcoming conference: On September 12th, join ScienceOpen and HTWK Leipzig, on the Road to Open Meta, a conference that will aim to define the existing challenges of metadata communication and provide a forum to discuss and present solutions on how to overcome possible problem areas.
R2OM
HTWK Leipzig and ScienceOpen are jointly hosting the Road to Open Meta conference as the final events of their respective BMBF-funded research projects OA-STRUKTKOMM and OA-META to present their project results. Various stakeholders of the Open Science and Open Access communities will round up the event by investigating questions on what makes systemic metadata communication difficult and how to overcome those metadata communication challenges for better distribution and discoverability results.
R2OM will be a forum for different stakeholder communities to get together to share their know-how on addressing current problematics in open (access) metadata communication.
A special focus will be to examine how OA has also changed the way we use metadata in the context of research evaluation. A rich program of lectures and discussions will trace the shifted demands for industry stakeholders between data persistence and updates and provide input on best practices while preserving the openness of data.
More information on key speakers and topics can be found on the conference website, and free registration in advance is required to attend the event. Please register here.
