Nano-Horizons launches with cutting-edge Nanotechnology research from Africa
Latest nanotechnology development in Africa
ScienceOpen is very glad to extend its collaboration with Unisa Press further and to host Nano-Horizons, a recently launched diamond open access journal, that will add important intersectional research in the field of Nanotechnology on our discovery network.
Nano-Horizons is intended to be a vehicle of scientific excellence and the voice of the African nano-community in the rapidly growing multidisciplinary field of Nanotechnology. With its publications, Nano-Horizons will be at the intersection of physics, chemistry, biology, engineering, materials science, computation, and modeling, providing a multidisciplinary and innovative approach to Nanoscience research.
By joining the platform, the scholarship of Nano-Horizons will now be placed in the context of over 84 million scholarly records and will be discoverable by ScienceOpen’s advanced search engine, as well as promoted as part of a featured Collection on ScienceOpen’s social media platforms.
Nano-Horizons will present African research perspectives and developments in nanotechnology while also adding significant innovative research outputs from the University of South Africa’s (Unisa) on our network, research which will also reflect UNISA’s engagement and main role as Africa Chair in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.
The journal has an impressive editorial board comprised of respected international and local scholars representing over 50 research institutions around the world, and it is hoped that it will have a significant impact in the field of nanoscience in no time.
Professor Malik Maaza of UNISA, recipient of the 2022 Spirit of Salam Award, addressed the Nano-Horizons launch event, viewing the new journal as a testimony of dedication to disseminating knowledge in the global south and around the world in accordance with Open Science principles.
Nano-Horizons will aim to allow access to knowledge where it was not available before, especially in the global south, in line with its aim of being an African journal of excellence in the multidisciplinary field of nanoscience and nanotechnology.
The journal is currently accepting Mini Reviews, Articles, Short Communications, Reports, and Express Letters in topics related to Nanoscience and researchers interested in this topic can submit a paper to the journal directly through ScienceOpen. Stay up-to-date with Nano-Horizons, follow the collection and check their call for papers and guidelines for submissions on the collection page.
