Success Stories of 2023 – AEUP

We are wrapping up 2023!

Celebrate the countdown towards 2024 with ScienceOpen’s Year in Review, as we spotlight some of the remarkable achievements and success stories that have unfolded in the past year at ScienceOpen.

We have celebrated our 10-year anniversary this year, among other noteworthy milestones that not only reflect our commitment to advancing knowledge but also set the stage for exciting collaborations and partnerships in the coming year.

Sharing knowledge on a European level with AEUP

One of the most important achievements of the last few months has been the launch and implementation of the Association of European University Presses (AEUP) DOI-based book catalogue, which showcases important European scholarship from over 46 university presses spread across 18 European countries.

Thanks to this multilateral collaboration, we are able to highlight the full potential of our automation technology and supporting discovery and dissemination tools, which integrate AEUP’s catalogue into the larger context of our network and add them to our long list of University Presses.

In 2023, more than 8 million publications were added to ScienceOpen, marking the milestone of 90 million publications.

With its members spread across the European continent, AEUP aims to increase the visibility of member presses and share knowledge and support about scholarly publishing. With over 11.000 books and chapter titles – of which over 3500 are open access – AEUP’s digital book catalogue on ScienceOpen supports best practices in metadata generation for the best possible digital discovery.

AEUP’s collaboration with ScienceOpen enables our members to present the scientific books of their authors and editors within a powerful scientific network such as ScienceOpen. Readers will be able to identify connections among topics, author networks or cited work, no matter whether they show up in books, journals, articles or other scientific content available at ScienceOpen.

AEUP members benefit from our discovery environment as well as from the BookMetaHub, our unique solution with a free interface to create, maintain and enrich, or export available open book metadata.
