Discussing the role of SDGs in digital publishing at the APE Conference

The SDGs aim to promote economic growth and development, and academic and publishing communities are increasingly coming together to support and promote these ambitious goals. For a long time, ScienceOpen has been assisting various publishers with their publishing projects centered on the SDGs and topics of sustainability.

In the last year alone, we have expanded our collaboration with important multidisciplinary publishers like Hogrefe, Jaypee, and EDP Sciences, focusing on showcasing their innovation and research results that support the acceleration towards the SDGs in collections tailored to individual goals or relevant topics.

ScienceOpen is a proud member of the SDG Publishers Compact and is actively supporting SDG publishers in the digital publishing landscape.

Topics related to the promotion of SDGs in digital publishing will be touched upon at the upcoming APE Conference and we are looking forward to meeting many publishing partners promoting innovation that supports sustainable development in the next two days.

Discussing SDGs at the APE Conference

This year’s conference will be organized on January 9th and 10th at the European School of Management and Technology ESMT Berlin. The APE International Conferences have been organized annually at the beginning of the year without interruption since 2006.

The conferences bring together all stakeholders in scholarly communications and scientific publishing, and they underline the role of specialized information in promoting research results in the form of publications by universities, colleges, research institutions, and scientific societies.

The APE Conference encourages debate about the future of value-added scientific publishing, information dissemination, and access to scientific results and offers an independent forum for open discourse.

Our CEO Stephanie Dawson, will be moderating tomorrow’s panel discussion on the role of the SDGs within the publishing industry with the title: “Can scholarly publishers change the world?”.

Join the conference in Berlin on January 9th and 10th and get a chance to learn more about our projects highlighting research that is actively promoting the Sustainable Development Goals.

On ScienceOpen, you can explore the collections of the following SDG Publisher Compact members:

Thanks to our digital infrastructure, the research results are contextualized in our discovery environment, sparking debates and much-needed exchange for scholars from all over the world.
