Announcing a new journal collection on ScienceOpen
When it comes to medical research, there is often dissonance between theory and practice. The new biomedical sciences journal, BIO Integration, has been created to fill this niche, helping bridge academia, clinicians, and industry. We are proud to announce the addition of the BIO Integration Collection to the ScienceOpen platform, which will make current and future BIOI issues available through ScienceOpen.

Introducing three new collections created with Emerald Publishing
Together with Emerald Publishing, we have created three new collections of Emerald publications that support Emerald’s three missions of promoting responsible consumption, equal access to digital technology, and reduced inequality throughout the world. These missions, inspired by the United Nations’ 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), align closely with Emerald’s content and the interdisciplinary research being carried out by their subject communities. As a global business, Emerald recognizes that issues around inequality, sustainability and the digital divide resonate with audiences around the world and not just within academia, which was a driving factor for creating these collections.
We have collaborated with the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) to create a featured collection comprising a wide array of aerospace related research from four different AIAA journals. AIAA brings together industry, academia, and government to advance engineering and science in aviation, space, and defense. As the world’s largest technical society dedicated to the global aerospace profession, the addition of material from AIAA greatly enriches the contents and contextof ScienceOpen’sdiscovery platform.
International Journal of Development Education and Global Learning is now hosted on ScienceOpen
The International Journal of Development Education and Global Learning (IJDEGL) is an internationally refereed journal by UCL Press that is dedicated to publishing educational research and current debates on development education, global learning, global education, and global citizenship. Peer review is a key element of scholarly publishing, but for the past decade the research community has struggled to move beyond the black box and develop new open models of research evaluation. University College London and UCL Press would like to change that. Since the beginning, ScienceOpen has been committed to open peer review – now offering post-publication review options for over 62 million articles and preprints. So, with the vision of a university-led publishing platform based on open review principles, UCL Press teamed up with ScienceOpen to create the journal “UCL Open: Environment”.
ScienceOpen has released a Collection of COVID-19 research that highlights rigorous, peer-reviewed articles by reputable journals and publishers within the rapidly growing coronavirus knowledge base. Almost two dozen publishers have already participated in ScienceOpen’s initiative, bringing together 1000s of articles and enabling better discovery for the research community.
ScienceOpen offers powerful filters for enhanced discovery and interactive tools to recommend, review and share research. Publishers can create unique collection landing pages for their coronavirus-related content within the context of thousands of preprints and articles aggregated from around the world.
Karger Publishers, one of world’s leading health sciences publishers, will feature publications from dozens of their international, peer-reviewed journals in 11 topical Collections on ScienceOpen, including ten Collections of handpicked articles on specialized fields of medicine, as well as a special Collection on COVID-19. The new Collections are an invaluable digital resource for medical researchers and practitioners, and thanks to their comprehensive scope and the richness of the content, will boost dissemination of high-quality medical research in the digital space.
Particularly in the medical field it is essential to distinguish carefully selected and vetted research within the digital resources used globally for the health and well-being of all. We are therefore thrilled to be working with Karger Publishers to highlight these high-quality resources within the ScienceOpen discovery environment and encourage community interaction.
