Welcome to November’s monthly digest, where we provide you with the most recent updates on new publishers and journals that have joined our platform, as well as brand-new collections that may support researchers and editors in their scientific work.
Looking back at the month of November, we added more publishers to our network and grew the number of scholarly publications, which is now more than 82 million.
Our #ExploreSDGs campaign aims to promote content that is advancing the research and discussion on topics related to the Sustainable Development Goals, but at the same time, it wants to encourage publishers and researchers to join the challenge of achieving Agenda2030’s goals by curating their own SDG research on ScienceOpen.
Today, we will explore some innovative scholarly content available in our network that can help scientists, researchers, and practitioners working on sustainable development goals to make faster progress toward achieving Goal 3 of Agenda2030.
Emirates Scholar aims to disseminate knowledge about recent scientific developments in the UAE and Gulf Region to the rest of the world by promoting and supporting academic research through article and book writing, translation, conferences, and symposia.
English has de facto become the “lingua franca” of scientific research. Our network, however, includes many collections, journals, and articles written in languages other than English.
We are excited to announce that Hogrefe, the leading scientific publisher for psychology, psychiatry, and mental health in Europe, has worked with us to add book records to their collections on ScienceOpen. By combining books and journal article records in collections, ScienceOpen works as a platform to “un-silo” publishers’ content. Hogrefe has previously created ten collections on ScienceOpen to feature their journals’ content. These collections include eight thematic collections on topics such as medicine, nursing, and psychology, a Covid-19 collection, and a universal Collection comprising over 17,000 publications. Bringing together book and journal content around similar topics embedded in ScienceOpen’s interactive search platform gives a new way for readers to interact with and discover research that’s relevant for them!

ScienceOpen has provided expert technical support with the generation of rich, machine-readable metadata and assigning and depositing Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to Crossref. By partnering with ScienceOpen, Amsterdam University Press (AUP) can now dedicate more of its focus to the editing aspects of publishing—leaving the technical responsibilities to ScienceOpen’s Metadata Technical Hub.

Now, the addition of seven UUM Press open access journals (plus one forthcoming) and approximately 400 other titles with rich metadata are available for discovery in eight different featured collections and an encompassing Super Collection on ScienceOpen.
